Boil Water Alert LIFTED

The City of Monroe Department of Water Distribution has lifted the Boil Water Advisory for the area affected by the water main break at Birch Street. The advisory, initially issued on Sunday, July 28, 2024 is no longer in effect for this area. 
Sampling has confirmed that the city's public water may be used for all purposes and does not require boiling. The City's drinking water meets or exceeds standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as required by the Federal Safety Drinking Water Act. The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) has been notified.
