Yard Trimmings

The City will collect the following yard waste items once per week. Items picked up are as follows:

• Limbs, no longer than five (5) feet in length and 6 inches in diameter.
• Grass clippings.  Note: Items can be placed in a brown, biodegradable paper bag, sold at local supply stores.
• Brush and vines
• Christmas trees
• All items must be separated from bulk trash, before they will be picked up. All yard waste items should be placed at the curb near the street, on the shoulder between the ditch and street, or on the backside of the ditch.
• NONE of these items shall be placed on the street or in a drainage ditch or sidewalk. If so, this is in violation of the ordinances of the City of Monroe and residents will be issued a citation.
• Note: Landscaping contractors will also be issued a citation and charged for the clean up of the street and/or drainage.
