First Friday Concert Presented by Snellville Heating, Air & Plumbing~ August 4th

Snellville Heating, Air & Plumbing presents The Wildflowers (Tom Petty Tribute) with Brandon Whitley as the opening act on August 4th.  

We'll be on the lawn of the historic court house  (111 South Broad Street) while our town green is under construction.  

Visit our food court for dinner and drinks or come early and dine downtown! No outside alcohol. Alcohol may be purchased onsite or in a downtown restaurant using our Monroe branded to-go cup.

First Friday Concert - Departure

DEPARTURE Journey Tribute Band will be coming to Monroe on Friday, August 2nd. VIP tables are SOLD OUT. In their 11th year together, DEPARTURE is the most respected Journey tribute band in the nation. DEPARTURE replicates the look, sound and feel of the original 80’s rock super group, Journey. All five DEPARTURE band members are from the original line-up and have been together from the very beginning. These veteran musicians love what they do and have developed amazing on-stage chemistry.

McDaniel-Tichenor House Wine & Beer Tasting

The Governor's Committee presents a Wine & Beer Tasting on Thursday, April 11th, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the historic McDaniel-Tichenor House located at 319 McDaniel Street. There will be multiple wine and beer tasting stations, a dual entree buffet dinner, DJ, door prizes, and raffle tickets. Reserved tables are available with the purchase of 8 tickets. Tickets are $50 per person.

Downtown Dollars Gift Certificates

 

Downtown Dollars come in $10 certificates that can be used in any participating Downtown Monroe shops and restaurants just like cash. Purchases can be made online or in person, orders can then be picked up at City Hall at 215 North Broad Street or you can have them mailed directly to you.

Antiques Capital of Georgia

Welcome to Monroe, the Antiques Capital of Georgia! With over 1,200 booths and 250,000 square feet of antiques, vintage, and repurposed items, Monroe-Walton County has the largest concentration of antiques stores of any other county in Georgia.  We are also home of the largest antique mall in the southeast! Hammock Park

The downtown hammock park is located next to the Monroe Visitors Center and Museum at 227 S. Broad Street. The park was made possible by a generous contribution from the Monroe Rotary Club. Also in this area is the Project Road Share trailhead for local cycling routes.

Public Art

A wonderful variety of public art can be found throughout downtown. There are a number of alleyway murals, a sculpture garden next to the Monroe Walton Center for the Arts, a musical instrument alley installation, painted hydrant art, seasonal painted windows, and even a few painted dumpsters. See what all you can find and help us create even more creative surprises!

Dog Park

Our downtown dog park is located on the South side of Childers Park in a shaded, wooded area. The park features play elements for pups and bench seating for their people. There are also some unique fire hydrant art installations around the dog park.  Come socialize with the canine crowd!
