Buildings & Grounds

The Buildings and Grounds division is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of City owned properties and facilities. This includes Childers Park, Pilot Park, Art Guild, old City Hall, Uncle Remus Library, Community Building, On Stage Playhouse, City Hall, Airport, Utility and Public Works facilities, and various other City owned facilities and locations around Monroe. This process is achieved by the combined services of internal and contract labor. The primary focus going forward of this division is to progressively enhance the overall appearance of every facility and City owned location so as to set an example and provide an appealing visual presence to citizens and visitors alike. This will always be an ongoing progress as the City makes this a more prioritized function within the Central Services Department.
