Traffic Services
This division is responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of all traffic control devices within the city limits of Monroe. It is also responsible for the installation and maintenance of all traffic related signs, road closures, streetlights, and traffic signals.
Keep in mind, many of the traffic signals located in the city limits of Monroe actually belong to the state, and are controlled and operated by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). Anything that is situated on state routes such as GA Hwy 11 (Broad Street), Spring Street (GA Route 10), and others are the right-of-ways of the state. Notification to the City of Monroe though is welcomed, where we will then reach out to contacts with GDOT for notification of maintenance needs.
