In an effort to maintain property aesthetics and increase quality-of-life, the City of Monroe Code Enforcement Office would like to notify everyone that we will begin diligently enforcing the City Ordinances. We will be focusing on safety and improving the overall appearance of the community appearance by working with citizens. This process is attained through the consistent enforcement of building and property maintenance codes. 

Code Enforcement procedures have been updated and are as follows:

The Office of the City Marshal was the original law enforcement authority in the town of Spring Place, and the newly formed City of Monroe dating back into the 1800's.

Around 1900, the Monroe Police Department replaced the City Marshal as the primary provider of law enforcement services.

Today, the City Marshal is a Georgia certified law enforcement officer who works out of the Code Department handling code and local ordinance enforcement, business license issues, and city facilities security.
